Because the likelihood of a collision increases after a driver has been at work 6 hours, we have a new 30 minute break regulation.
- A driver MUST take a 30 minute break before he has been on duty 8 hours
- He MUST log the break as off-duty – on the top line of the grid
- He MUST flag the break, labeling it BREAK and showing the complete city name and 2 letter abbreviation for the state where the break is taken.
- A driver can work – BUT HE CANNOT DRIVE – if he has not taken this break.
