For another year – at minimum – federal regulations require that you carry and be able to present a medical card when it is requested by a law enforcement officer.
There is an empty sleeve in your legalization folder by design; it is intended for your long form physical copy and medical card. Please confirm that both are there.
We do not advise that you carry the medical card in your wallet, as this is an easy way to lose it; however, a high number of savvy drivers have taken a photo of the medical card with their smart phones, and so they have a handy copy to present when it is requested.
The Driver Fitness CSA Basic reflects violations of the medical card requirement more often than any other. There is no excuse not to pass this part of your inspection. Please confirm today that you have the card, that it is current – and not expired, and that the physician has signed it.
