Commercial drivers have less than 30 days to contact their state licensing agencies to (1) inform them of the kind of driver they are , and (2) to provide a copy of their current medical card.
This information MUST BE provided by January 30, 2014.
Any interstate driver who does not complete this process by the deadline will be declared “uncertified” and his CDL will be cancelled. Do NOT let this happen to you.
Each time a driver gets a new or renewal USDOT physical, he must provide a copy to his licensing state and carry the medical card for 15 days after the date it was performed; thereafter, the physical information will appear on his motor vehicle report which can be accessed by law enforcement online.
Non CDL drivers are not affected by these regulations.
